Disciplines
Originally derived from military squad drill in Australia and New Zealand during the post-war 1940s, the routines performed by precision drill teams have evolved beyond their origins in marching, into spectacular forms of precision drill, exhibition march, march past, prop precision, and freestyle drilldance. The common element is a focus on precise, uniform timing and accurate formations.
The sport hosts both competitive and non-competitive disciplines. Please click on the menu links to learn more about each of the disciplines practiced in the sport of Marching. To read and download the Manual of Precision Drills, which will provide you with important technical details about each discipline, you need to login using the login form on the right side of this page.
